Track record of our pools draws
DrawMeter editorial team · Updated
A forecast is only worth something if it can be checked. This page keeps the count for the one selection DrawMeter makes every week: the eight matches on the UK pools coupon with the highest draw chances. It began when the site launched in November 2026 and grows by one row for every coupon played.
What is logged and when
Each coupon is priced as soon as it is published and re-priced at every refresh while it is open. At the first kick-off of the week the draw ranks and the eight bold matches are frozen. From that moment nothing about the week's selection can change, whatever happens in the matches.
Results are then taken from the published coupon results, match by match. A Pools Panel verdict on a postponed match counts as that match's result, exactly as it does for the pools. A week is marked finished once its results are complete. Rows are never edited or removed afterwards, good weeks and bad weeks alike.
Every coupon we have priced
The record starts once the first coupon we priced has been played.
How to read the table
- Date and week: the Saturday of the coupon and its week number.
- Draws on the coupon: how many of the 49 matches ended level. This is the background: some weeks are full of draws, some have few.
- Our eight: how many of the eight bold matches drew. A week still in play is marked as such until its last result arrives.
The line under the table, once enough weeks have finished, gives the average number of our eight that drew per week and the best single week.
Reading a hit count honestly
Draws are noisy, and eight matches is a small group. Even if the model's chances were perfect, with eight matches rated around 30% a week with no draws among them would come along about once every seventeen weeks, and a week with four or more about once in five. A run of poor weeks or a run of good ones says little on its own.
Two comparisons are more useful than any single week. First, our eight against the coupon as a whole: if the bold matches end level more often, week after week, than the average match on the coupon, the ranking is doing its job. Second, our eight against the chances we published: if they were rated around 30% each, they should land around 30% of the time over a long run, not 50% and not 15%. Both comparisons need many weeks before they mean much, so give the record a season.
What this record does not cover
This page counts the coupon selection only. The daily tables on draw predictions and score draw predictions are rankings rather than picks: each row shows its result once played, but they are not added to a running total. How the chances behind every table are made is set out in how we predict draws, and the latest coupon's scores are on pool results.
